Evidence - About Lara Logan

The Lara Logan incident - the truth!

As a fan of the CBS foreign correspondent Lara Logan, I (like many others around the World), was horrified to read of the alleged attack on her in Tahrir Square, Egypt back in February. After hearing the official CBS statement - I, like so many others sought to find out more and understand exactly 'what' seemingly went so badly wrong on that night. I wanted to find out exactly what happened to Lara Logan - and importantly, learn about her welfare and how she is doing since.
Whatever did happen to Lara - it's important that the world must now respect her privacy and dignity.

HOWEVER, I personally find it very irresponsible of CBS to release a statement about 'sustained beating' and 'sexual assault', without giving ANY further updates whatsoever.
I believe that CBS are guilty of fuelling the mass of theories that have swamped the internet - as people clamber for 'the truth'. It is BECAUSE of CBS's lack of further information - that the wild claims have emerged.
I live in the UK. Just imagine the fallout, if tomorrow, a UK newspaper printed the headline, 'Cheryl Cole subjected to serious sex attack' - and then said 'no further updates will be given'...leading to a complete media blackout! There would be an outcry for more news!

Lara Logan is a fantastically talented, courageous journalist (not to mention incredibly beautiful). She has conducted some deeply touching and sole-searching interviews on wounded soldiers in combat. She has no problem in asking tough questions. It's time now - that a representive of Lara Logan and/or CBS make a further announcement - to give the public an 'official' version of events.

Until then... I have launched this journalistic online investigation - and welcome ANYONE with any evidence, to contribute.
  • Who - was with Lara that evening? (Who was her crew? How many? names? What security did they have?
  • How did Lara's security allow her to be seperated?
  • What happened next, after that (now infamous) last photo was taken?
  • who witnessed 'whatever happened' to her.
  • What was her crew doing at this time? Where were they (and her security)?
  • Where did Lara go (get taken to)? Who by? How? What time?
  • When did Lara Logan re-emerge? What time? Where? Who saw her/saved her?
  • Is it true that Lara returned to the Four Season hotel that night? What time? How did she get there? Who with? What state was she in?
  • What happened after returning to the Four Seasons hotel?
  • What happened on Lara's return to the US?
  • What has been happening to Lara Logan since Feb 11th? How is she now (physically/mentally)
  • What does the future hold for Lara? - Will she resume her career? What is she doing now?
  • Her first 'post-attack' appearance - at American University. Witnesses? Who spoke to her? What was her physical appearance like. How did she seem?
These questions need answers! Why? Because in my investigation to date, I have found nothing but hearsay and speculation. Here - I want to collect ALL evidence, and to make this the best source for people to seek 'the truth'.

I will NOT ACCEPT any type of evidence that doesn't carry any credibility. I will gladly accept witness accounts, if accompanied by the witness name and some form of detail.
By all means add photo's, video links and links to other websites - BUT bear in mind, if it's nothing but conjecture, it will be deleted from here.
Can we build a community that can genuinely investigate the Lara Logan incident - and provide answers that CBS can't?

Regards,

  1. I hope that this Blog can discover the truth of the Lara Logan incident at Tahrir Square, Cairo, Egypt, February 11, 2011. I too seek the truth because CBS News has a history of fabricating or falsefying news stories. The credibility of Lara Logan along with the Egyptian People's Revolution of January 25, 2011 are at stake.

  2. Thanks for initiating this effort to separate fact from fiction. There is actually already much in the public domain about Lara's experience and subsequent aftermath. Reputable news organizations have provided some cursory details of her medical condition through informed sources, and she did make one public appearance in Washington recently. But much more remains to be revealed. Hopefully, verified and credible information will out, and can be posted at this site. I look forward to seeing what develops and plan to share leads I come across.

  7. Neocon Blogosphere Changes Tune on Lara Logan

"As the story now stands, the Lara Logan mass sexual assault is a skeleton with no meat, and the wrong people are recklessly distorting known facts as they capitalize upon it. It is possible that every word of the sketchy release from CBS is true, even though it contrasts rather sharply with an earlier CBS report that would have placed her far away from Cairo on February 11. In the overall context, we need a lot more than the most recent story from CBS News. Those with an agenda of pitting America against the Muslim world obviously don’t."

  8. This is interesting...according to Castra Praetoria, a notable Marine 1st SGT who actively reports on what he witnesses, he states that Lara Logan was brought back to the US Embassy before going back to the hotel. The embassy is located about 400 yards away from Tahir Square, and I am kicking myself for not recognizing this fact earlier. Of course they would have brought her there first, because the Embassy would be the safest point for her in all of Egypt. At any rate, according to the Marines present, Lara had the "!@#$%& beat out of her."

Now then...if this happened, and like I said, I think it incredibly likely that it did given the proximity of the Embassy to the Square and the fact the Embassy would have a corpsman who would be able to administer emergency aid/triage.

So I am curious, if this happened, why Lara's team even bothered going back to the Hotel at all? They could have left from the Embassy to the airport. But I think now I know who transported Lara back to the Hotel and to the airport....personnel from the US Embassy.

  11. THERE YOU HAVE IT. LARA LOGAN'S OWN WORDS. UNLESS SOMETHING SURFACES, YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT LARA LOGAN'S ACCOUNT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. There is a BEAST in all of us. Most of us can control it, but when the BEAST gets loose, terrible things happen.

A link from a french news website with interviews of a young egyptian doctor who was there and one of the soldiers who saved her. It corroborates what she said in the 60 minutes segment and show that she was unaware of the danger because she thinks everybody was there for a celebration.

  19. its very sad what happened to miss logan. but i must agree the whole truth is not being revealed. i do not blame her for not trying to reveal all that happened to her that night, it was a very horrif assault that she surely wishes to forget.

but heres some hints for those of you that a curious. the vidoes of her assault that was taken with cellphones are said to be circulating on arab websites. heres my question if the video is fake, how come so many accounts in youtube and other video viewing sites are being blocked and deleted because of it. i have been searching for it for the past week. but the rate at which the sites hosting them are being taking down in america is amazing. i never would have thought it possible but your internet censor system successfully supressed the video from being released. even the torrent version was succesfully stopped!

unless you have access to some arab sites we won't be seeing it anytime soon. but those who have seen it said it was a real brutal rape scene and not just "hand attack" like she said in the interview. like i said i understand if she doesn't want to discuss the true events of that night, shes suffered enough as it is. thank God she's recovering.

  20. Oops! Sorry i’ve posted the above comment before i returned to fully read your instructions.

Now the result of the instruction on your page should show some very strange pattern.
If everybody sticks to your rule, Nobody will be able to post here. Now doesn’t that surprise you? With the crowd and the length of time she claimed she was held hostage, with length and amount of photos and video that would have been taken. Don’t you find it very odd, That none of it has surfaced? Knowing the propensity of her assailants to gloat over their victims, don’t you find it strange, that “nobody” here seems to have any detail on what happened?(and i’m sure lots of people have been to your page but can’t post because of the rules!!) If she was only hand assaulted as she claimed, how come the blanket of secrecy over this one is so high?

I tell you, I’ve never seen so many youtube accounts blocked on account of a single video in my life as much as this one! The video must have been truly horrific!! Nobody practically knows anything in Europe and america (the word going round in arab websites seem to paint a different picture) the assault on this poor woman was so brutal even the president of the united states had to personally call!

Secondly how many people here truly believe that a gang of criminal men, kidnapped a very beautiful woman, into an alley and held here for 40minutes (some claim its much longer), tied her spread eagle on the ground naked, and only “touched her privates”. Keep in mind that the criminals who abducted her were different from the people busy celebrating their victory in the square, most were immigrants/touts that purposely targeted her.

I live in Nigeria and have seen what men from specific areas who are not used to seeing a womans face(because women in such areas are covered in full hijab) can become when confronted with a normally dressed woman, Let alone a white naked woman tied spread eagle on the floor in a dark alley controlled by gangs at night!!! Unless there was a armed commander in charge of the crowd giving orders on exactly what they should do, they could not have used their hands alone.

i have a little background in psychology and psychiatry. The sequence of events that has played out around the case when psychoanalysed, shows that the events that occurred that night is obviously worse than the general public is led to know. I believe that is why people have been unable to answer your seemingly simple questions.

Based on accounts from those who have seen the assault video, its so barbaric it believed it will give rise to unrivalled anti-islamic and anti-Arab drives that the American government is actively destroying the videos as they emerge. even the arabs themselves seem to find it so appalling most are embarrassingly silent about it (notice aljazeera )

An equally powerful pointer is aljazeeras conspicuous silence on the matter. Strange? With their purported track record of claiming to always telling the truth they obviously decided to keep deathly silent on the matter rather than lie by playing down the event. Because when the video finally emerges it will tarnish their reputation if they lied about it! Seriously, they haven’t uttered a word! How odd is that!!

  21. Amazing how videos pop up, then suddenly dissappear. Don't know what to say or make of it.

CENSORSHIP? FAKE VIDEOS? FANTASIES RUN AMOCK? PEOPLE PLAYING GAMES?

Who knows. This story seems like a "NEVER ENDING STORY." Why havn't any real live videos surfaced? Maybe they don't exhist. Maybe people that have them are to afraid to publish them. Shame of getting involved and becoming a pack of wild men doing terrible things. Well I can go on and on and on......

  23. After much searching of the internet, I have concluded, the assault was not a planned attack by the authorities. Due to NO police presence, a bunch of thugs, hooligans, rapist & other criminals were turned loose who took advantage of the situation. Other women, Egyptian women, were also assaulted that night. Lara Logan was in the wrong place at the wrong time & paid dearly for that error in judgement. This was not a Moslem thing, but an assault clearly directed at women of all backgrounds.
